CLASS - Christian Life and Service Seminars

We would like to encourage every person at Grace to take advantage of the wonderful opportunity provided by the CLASS ministry. These classes are packed with spiritual insight and wisdom, and designed to facilitate a process creating growth opportunities for every participant.

The Christian Life and Service Seminar (C.L.A.S.S.) is from 3:00-6:00 except for CLASS 301 which goes to 8:15pm at Grace Community Church.

Five Purposes of CLASS:

  • To help participants CONNECT and build friendships with others

  • GROW in their relationship with Christ

  • Find a PLACE to SERVE within Christ's body according to how God has made them

  • SHARE God's love by reaching out to out community

  • YIELD to the holiness of who God truly is

CLASS implements a process offering participants opportunities for growth. We call this process the "Life Diamond" and it can be easily remembered using the five words: Connect, Grow, Serve, Share, and Yield.

CLASS seminars available:

CLASS serves as the process for getting people plugged into a ministry. Completion of classes 101, 202, and 301 are required for new ministry leaders and teachers.

We are continuing the process of building the CLASS ministry, adding classes every three months. When complete, five classes will be offered:

CLASS 101 - Discovering Membership

CLASS 201 - Discovering Maturity

CLASS 301 - Discovering My PLACE in Ministry

Class 401 - Discovering My Life Mission

Class 501 - Discovering Worship

What CLASS do I take?

Regular attenders are encouraged to take CLASS 101 and consider commitment to membership.

Existing members may take CLASS 101 (optional) and are encouraged to take CLASS 201 and consider the commitment to maturity.

Existing members who are ministry leaders, small group leaders, and teachers may take CLASS 101 (optional), CLASS 201 (recommended), and are encouraged to take CLASS 301 unless you have already completed a PLACE ministry workshop.

Class 101
Discovering Membership

3:00-6:00pm

"You were formed for God's family!"

Teachers:  Jim Mackey

 

In CLASS 101 you will learn about who we are as a church family, our history and beliefs in a small group discussion atmosphere.  You will also have a chance to join a Small Group coming out of this experience.

 

Class 201
Discovering Maturity

3:00-6:00pm

"You were created to become like Christ"

Teachers:  Pastor Dan Haffey

Would you like to continue exploring your areas of growth and work on your growth plan? This CLASS will take you deeper and give you opportunity to share your Journey and growth in many areas.

Purpose: Encouraging and equipping God's children to develop Christ-like character using the Christian Life Profile Assessment Tool.

Class 301
Discovering my PLACE in Ministry

3:00-8:15pm

"You were made for a ministry!"

PLACE is a process that equips Christians to discover and develop their God-given personality, spiritual gifts, abilities, passions, and life experiences.

Teachers: Pastor Mike Brubaker,  Gina Vandervort (PLACE ministry leader)

Purpose: Serves as a doorway into ministry. PLACE connects Christians with opportunities to serve that match the unique way God designed them.

Content: PLACE process consists of 5 phases:

  • Four-hour class with workbook, teaching, and self-assessments

  • Completion of personal profile and ministry covenant

  • One-on-one consultation/exploring interview

  • Introduction to ministry, leader, and team

  • Re-evaluation (change, better fit)

A workbook is required (cost is $10 and may be paid day of the class.) This workbook will be given to each participant a week in advance to provide time for completion of other assessments.

Class 401
Discovering my Life Mission

3:00-6:00pm

Teachers: Pastor R. Greene, Shawn Wolf 

 

Purpose: To begin to discover your mission in the world

Content:

  • Discovering in my life mission, God?s purpose in creating us Jesus? mission while on earth

  • Understanding and sharing your life message

  • The keys to spiritual fishing

  • Becoming A World Class Christian

Class 501
Discovering Worship
