Welcome to FaithWeaver Friends !!! What is the focus? At FaithWeaver Friends kids learn one important bible point each week. Instead of trying to pour more information into kids than they can possibly remember or apply, Friends focus on one key bible scripture each week. Our kids will learn this bible scripture Sunday morning in Children’s Bible Fellowship, Powerhouse and Tiny Kids Praise and then on Wednesday evening at FaithWeaver Friends. Kids will talk about it, discover it, explore it, apply it, and carry it home in memorable, applicable ways. At FaithWeaver Friends kids grow in their relationship with Jesus. What does it look like? The children will begin their evening in the gym with Opening Celebration. During this Celebration, children will sing songs, do skits, and review the scripture for the week. The children then rotate in a small group called “Circle of Friends” through exciting discovery centers; Projects with a Purpose, Games, and Journaling Time in the Snack it Café. Every discovery center explores the scripture in a different way. The children will finish their evening back in the gym with the Closing Celebration of songs and prayer. What is a Circle of Friends? Christian growth occurs when we connect with other Christians. Children are grouped in small groups of less than eight kids. The kids in each small group travel together from one Discovery Center to another, experiencing Bible stories together, and growing in their faith together. Kids become accountable to one another and their leader in their Circle of Friends. What is a Circle of Friends leader? This is an adult who loves God, loves kids and commits to serving all year with their small group of children. They are not teachers, but facilitators who listen to kids, pray for kids and write affirming comments in the kids’ faith journals. What is a faith journal? Each child will receive a journal to write or draw a reflective response to specific faith questions based on the weekly bible scripture. The Circle of Friends leader will read and respond to the children’s responses. The leader will encourage the children in their spiritual growth. A weekly challenge is presented to the children to apply what they have learned in a practical way at home. What are Fruit of the Spirit keys? Every quarter in FaithWeavers a different Fruit of the Spirit is emphasized. Children are given opportunities through service projects, journals, and activities to develop the Fruits of the Spirit. Through the year children will then have opportunities to celebrate their personal spiritual growth and receive a Fruit of the Spirit key to attach to their keychain. |
